Green Commitment

This commitment begins with all of our wood products being LACEY ACT compliant, ensuring customers the best quality hardwood flooring with environmentally friendly measures at the very foundation of our factory and material used. Each wood plank is constructed from wood harvested from legal and sustainable forests and is precision-engineered to create as little scrap as possible. D&M works closely with the factory to ensure all products meet our hardwood flooring quality standards. As a fully integrated operation, our factory controls every aspect of the manufacturing process to provide superior results in material usage, color consistency, quality, and safety control.

All of the products are Engineered Hardwood Flooring. One of the many technical benefits is its stability in different environments, especially when humidity and temperatures fluctuate. The plywood/lumber core features a cross-grain construction which resists shrinkage, expansion and warping from seasonal changes.

The environmental impact is also lessened by producing Engineered Hardwood Flooring. For the same thickness, Producing engineered flooring uses only about a quarter of the Oak lumber compare to a solid Oak plank. Also by using plywood/lumber core made from fast-growing woods like Eucalyptus and Pine, we can conserve more popular hardwoods such as Oak, Maple, Hickory etc. that can take decades to grow fully.

All of our multiply engineered hardwood products use CARB Phase II compliant plywood, meeting the California Air Resources Board standards for formaldehyde emission in composite wood products. Finished products get tested in the US for low formaldehyde and indoor air quality using the CDPH Standard Method Emission Testing 01350 or ASTM D6007.

Also we have many products that are FLOOR SCORE certified, the most recognized indoor air quality (IAQ) certification standard for hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayments.  Developed by SCS with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), a leading industry trade association of flooring manufacturers and suppliers, it qualifies for many green building schemes including LEED v4, WELL, BREEAM, and CHPS.

We believe taking care of the environment is our responsibility. We’re creating a better Eco-friendly environment as we grow resulting in our rigorous effort to manufacture a safe, earth friendly products as we always keep our commitment: Better Flooring, Better Living.

A U.S. legislation which requires a declaration of all species and countries of origin or wood products at the port of entry. This ensures that the wood D&M sells is socially responsible, environmentally friendly, and not illegally logged or acquired.

 LEED CertifiedLEED
The LEED program provides awareness and opportunity to construct sustainable, green buildings with environmental and financial benefits:
IE Q Credit 4.4: Low-Emitting Materials – Composite Wood and Agrifiber Products (1 Point)
IE Q Credit 4.1: Low Emitting Materials – Adhesives and Sealants (1 Point)

LOW VOCUS Tested for Low VOC

Random VOC testings are performed by the third party in US laboratories for our finished flooring products. Tests include ASTM E1333-10 Standard Test Method or Determining Formaldehyde Concentrations in Air and Emission Rates of Wood Products. All formaldehyde emission level results indicate LQ or below 0.03 ppm. (US Formaldehyde emission standard for plywood used in flooring is 0.05 or lower)
